Sapt Devalays (7 ancient temples)






These are seven old temples. The respected Chaitanya Mahaprabhu started them. Because of this, they are very important to followers. First, there is the historical 5000 year old Madan Mohan temple. Next, you can see the lovely Radha Shyamsundar Temple. People believe the statue in this temple appeared from the heart of Radha Rani herself. Then, there is the Radha Damodar Temple which houses Giriraj shila manifested by lord Krishna himself with his footprint. Also, don’t miss the charming Radha Gokulananda Temple.

Also, the Radha Raman Temple is very beautiful. People say the God in Radha Raman Mandir is alive. You can even see his body in different positions at different times of the day. Moreover, deity of Shri Radha Gopinath Temple and of Govind dev ji temple is ancient. Devotees believe that Vrajanabha, Lord Krishna’s great-grandson, installed both Deities in Vrindavan over five-thousand years ago. Each of these temples has its own special story and lovely artwork. Temples of lord Krishna
The famous Banke Bihari Temple has a beautiful statue of God and is one of the most visited temples in India. Devotees believe that Radha rani and Krishna themselves appeared in front of Swami Haridas and merged to form the statue at his request. You can witness the Paduka (Khadau) of Swami Haridas in Tatiya Sthan. Tatiya sthan is one place where Kaliyuga couldn’t enter to this day. The temple doesn’t use any modern tool and electricity.
Also, the Shri Ranganatha / Rangji Temple looks like a wonderful temple from South India and is famous for gold plated pillar and annual Ratha Yatra. You can also find the Radha Vallabha Temple, which is the main temple of Radha Vallabha Sampradaya. The deity here appeared from the heart of Lord Shiva himself.
Moreover, there is Nidhivan temple where Radha rani and Krishna come to perform Raasleela every night even to this day. Lord Krishna did Sringaar of Radha rani here in Seva Kunj and still visit daily to this day. If anyone tries to sneak into Nidhivan or Seva Kunj at night, they either die or become blind and lose their mind. One can see lot of monkeys and peacocks during day time there but they also leave the area in night.
Vansi Vat mandir is a divine place when lord Krishna married Radha rani in presence of creator of the universe Lord Brahma. the Imalitala temple is famous for its 5000 year old Imli tree. Kaliya dah temple is where lord Krishna fought with Kaliya the great serpent.
Temple of Other deities
The, Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple, is special because it is for Lord Shiva dressed as a Gopi. It is the only temple in world where Lord Shiva is worshipped in female form. He is also considered as Dwarpal of Maharaas and Kotwal of Vrindavan. Furthermore, Katyayani Temple is one of the 52 Shakti peethas.
Modern era temples
Besides the old temples, Vrindavan also has some beautiful new temples. These temples are grand and have became very popular with the newer generations. For instance, the Prem Mandir is stunning. It has detailed carvings and amazing light shows and very popular among youths. Also, the ISKCON Temple, Vrindavan is a worldwide spiritual center where you can experience a lively culture. Furthermore, the Chardham temple has a very tall statue of Lord Shiva, which is 165 feet high.
In addition, there is the artistic Shahji Temple built in white italian marble and famous for its Basanti Kamara. You can also see the lovely Priyakant ju temple built in shape of Lotus also known as Lotus temple. Furthermore, the stylish Jaipur temple the biggest temple of Vrindavan.
