History
Once, during Rasleela, Radha suddenly left. So, Krishna immediately went to look for her. He searched for his loved one everywhere. But he could not find her. Then, he came and sat under the Imli Tala tree and started to meditate on Radha rani.
Because he missed Radha Rani so much, his skin started to turn golden, just like hers. At that moment, Radha arrived there. She saw the amazing change in Sri Krishna’s body and looked at him with love. Radha was very surprised and asked the Lord about his golden form. Krishna told her that he was looking for her everywhere. He felt very sad because they were apart. So, he sat under the Imli Tala tree and kept saying her beautiful name. Because of this, he started to feel like Radha and have the same sad feelings she has when they are separated.
Illitala temple
Devotees of Gaudiya matha have built a very beautiful temple for the Gaudiya Matha. In the temple, there is a yellow wall around the tree. You can see the tree from the main entrance of this wall. Imlitala Temple is popular for the ancient tamarind tree which is still preserved by the Gaudiya math as it is believed to represent the pious love of Radha rani and Krishna.
