Chardham temple, Vrindavan

Chardham temple in one of the most visited temples of Vrindavan along with famous Bake Bihari temple, Prem mandir and ISKON temple. The temple is famous for two tall statutes of Mata Vaishno devi and Lord Shiva. The statue of lord Shiva here is second tallest (165 ft tall) after the tallest shiva statute in Rajasthan. Temple is very popular among youths due to its look in nighttime.

It is a newly constructed temple as an extension of Vaishno Mata temple, vrindavan. During the extension, three new temples of Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna and Lord Shani got added to it and it became known as Chardham temple due to 4 temples of these deities: Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Lord Shani and Mata Vaishno Devi. Vrindavan, often hailed as theĀ city of temples, boasts countless sacred sites, each with its unique story. However, certain sites stand as icon, in architecture and grandeur and Chardham temple is one of them.

Key facts

The Char Dham in Vrindavan is a new holy place. It is located on NH-2 in Chhatikara village, Mathura. The JK Chaudhry Trust built this big dham. It added three new holy places to the existing Vaishno Devi Dham. So, it now has Shiv Dham, Radha Krishna Dham, Shani Dham, and Vaishno Devi Dham. Because of this, people can have a full spiritual experience in one place. The idea was to let devotees see all four holy forms without needing to travel all over India. Furthermore, the temple area is beautiful. It has wide paths, peaceful music, and a calm feeling.

The temple utilizes clever use of lighting and hence looks very beautiful view of night time. One can see the large statue of Lord shiva and Mata Vaisno devi from afar. The temple is very photogenic and hence is very popular among youths. Furthermore, everything here is grand. All the main temple Vigraha (statues) are very large compared to the other temples of Vrindavan. Moreover, there are other large statues built around walkways for deities like Kartikeya, lord Sun (suryadeva) and more. You can also see large Trishula (trident), damru and Snake depicted with large size statues surrouning main Shiva temple.
