History
Hit Harivansh Ji was born in a village and Shri Radha Rani herself was his Guru. Even when he was just six years old, holy verses called Shri Radha Sudhanidhi would constantly come out of his mouth.
As per instructions of Shri Radha Rani he went to Vrindavan. After some time, when he got to Charthawal Village, Shri Ji gave him another instruction. She said that in that village, a Brahmin named Atmadev has two daughters and he should marry them.
After the marriage Atmadev gifted Shri Radha Vallabha to Hit Harivash ji who brought it to Vrindavan. When Shri Harivansh Ji Maharaj came to Vrindavan, he first placed Shri Radha Vallabh Ji at a high place called ‘Oonchi Thaur’ (or Madanter). This was on the Yamuna River’s bank. Then, on the thirteenth bright day of the month of Karthika (around October or November), Shri Harivansh Ji Maharaj started the special worship of Shri Radha Vallabh Ji. At first, Shri Radha Vallabh Ji stayed in Madan Teira. After that, he was moved to Sewa Kunj. Later, when this temple was built, Shri Radha Vallabh Ji has been staying here ever since.
Manifestation of Vigraha (Statue)
A long time ago, the ancestor of Atmadeva Brahman prayed to Lord Shiva at Mount Kailash. Lord Shiva was very happy with his prayers. So, he really wanted to give the ancestor what he wished for. Then, the ancestor asked for the thing Lord Shiva loved the most.
Therefore, Lord Shiva gave him the statue of Shri RadhaVallabh Ji Maharaj from his own heart. Also, Lord Shiva told him how to take care of it.
